In a report by GulfNews, Brigadier Ahmad Thani Bin Gulaitha, head of Police Stations Council in Dubai Police, mentions that there the door from the kitchen that led to the pool seemed to be left open by mistake.

They tried to recover the little girl however she was later declared dead, whereas the boy was was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead the next day (Saturday).

The public has been urged to monitor their children at all times especially when near swimming pools as this poses great danger when they are left unattended. Parents are advised to take precautionary measures such as have a fence or make sure the doors leading to pools are locked. Parents also need to make sure their children are in constant supervision.
