Renewing Driver’s License in the UAE just Got Easier

If your driver’s license or vehicle registration is about to expire, there’s great news for you. Nowadays, documentary services offered by the government can now be easily accessed or availed online.

However, things just got even better as the processing can be done on-the-spot through the mobile centres offered by the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) to process transactions involving licenses, vehicle registration, as well as parking cards.

RTA Offers a More Convenient Way to Renew Licenses and Vehicle Registration at the Start of 2019

On New Year’s Day (January 1), Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has rolled out a smart bus that has full capabilities to process and issue vehicle registration, driver’s license and parking cards on-site at the Last Exit in Al Khawaneej, as shared in a report by the Khaleej Times.

According to the report, the mobile RTA customer service centre will be initially offered at the Last Exit Khawaneej from Jan 1 – 10, 4pm – 11pm.

The roving customer happiness Centre will deliver vehicle licensing, driver’s licensing, and parking cards services at designated locations, as part of the department’s bid to provide more accessible and convenient services to the residents of the UAE.

Not only will this benefit majority of the citizens including people of determination, and senior Emiratis or expats in need of the RTA’s above services.

Furthermore, Customer Happiness Centre on Wheels was launched to boost customer satisfaction and happiness by rendering diverse service delivery channels which will expedite the transaction process by seeking services at conventional service centres. This development is in line with the Dubai Government’s Smart City Initiative according to Ahmed Mahboub, executive director of Customer Happiness at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.

The RTA Smart bus will be deployed for 10 days per month in each of the 14 geographical districts of Dubai, shared Mahboub.

The latest initiative follows the city’s earlier developments such as the 24/7 smart kiosks as well as the Dubai Police smart stations which has significantly helped address traffic incidents and road crimes, among others.
