We’ve already shared about how to settle rental disputes in Dubai, but what if you could avoid them in the first place? Using a new mobile app service… you most definitely can!
Just recently, the Rental Disputes Centre (RDC) launched the Rental Good Conduct (RGC) Certificate Service, WAM News Agency reported. The service is the first of its kind in the world, seeking to reduce rental disputes and enhance relationships between landlords and tenants.
Rental Good Conduct (RGC) Certificate Service Launched
According to the Director of RDC at Dubai Land Department (DLD), Judge Abdulqader Mousa, the new service aims to reduce cases of rental disputes. For instance, they have encountered cases where a tenant rents a unit, pays the first installment only, transfers to another unit when the contract ends, and repeats the process — resulting in severe losses for the leasers.
Mousa stated that by using the new RGC certificate service, anyone can:
- Inquire about a potential tenant
- Inquire about a potential leaser
- Report a rental dispute matter
- Track existing rental dispute cases
- Learn about Dubai Real Estate Legislation
By inquiring whether or not a potential tenant/leaser has a rental case filed against them, service users can make informed decisions. Consequently, they can avoid rental disputes and the legal problems associated with it — travel prevention, seizure of accounts and property, for example.
Enhancing Smart Transformation & Customer Satisfaction
“The RDC’s launch of the new RGC Certificate service comes in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to establish a distinguished operational system that elevates Dubai’s position globally and offers the society facilitated and more convenient services,” stated Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD.
“The RGC Certificate service also enhances the smart transformation of procedures provided to customers, contributing to achieving excellence and providing easily accessible services that ensure customer satisfaction,” he added.
Likewise, the CEO of wasl Asset Management Group, Hesham Al Qassim, praised the new service, citing is as “the ideal solution” to rental violations. “We are confident that RDC finds proactive and helpful solutions to create a safe environment that benefits all involved parties, and maintains Dubai’s reputation as a happy city and the preferred destination for living and investing,” he shared.
