Dubai Police have arrested a 22-member organised begging gang that operated on several major roads across the emirate. The breakthrough came from a public tip-off submitted through the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police app.
How the Case Unfolded
The report described people stopping drivers on the roads, claiming they were stranded and needed money for travel fare. Field teams launched a search and investigation, identified one suspect, and tracked his movements.

Investigators soon found this was not an isolated act but a coordinated operation. The group worked across several key locations, including Al Khor Street, Ras Al Khor, the Bu Kadra Bridge area, and the Dubai–Al Ain Road bridge, appealing to drivers’ sympathy to collect money.
After completing surveillance and gathering information, authorities carried out a security plan that led to the arrest of all gang members. Legal action has been taken against them.
The Value of Community Partnership
Dubai Police credited the community with helping to make the arrests possible. They noted that the “Police Eye” report was the starting point for monitoring the activity and identifying those involved, and said it shows how strong partnership with the public supports safety across the emirate.
A Safety Reminder
Officials also warned that begging on main roads is illegal and dangerous. Beggars and drivers who stop in unsafe or busy areas put themselves and others at risk. The public is urged not to respond to these tactics and not to stop in locations that could cause harm.
How to Report
Dubai Police encouraged residents to report similar cases straight away through the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police app. All reports are kept confidential, and quick reporting helps specialised teams act efficiently to protect community safety.
