Emirates airlines to start bringing UAE Residents Stuck Abroad back to UAE

Many UAE residents stuck abroad have been waiting for news and announcements on when the UAE will open its flights for expats. Etihad has already shared its schedule for flights to UAE from over 12 destinations.

This recent update is a sign of good news for expats so that they can come back to the country. Passengers can book flights but should hold a valid UAE resident visa and ICA approval number – as they will not be permitted to enter the UAE otherwise.

How to Book Flights

1. Reminder for all those who will book the flights that passengers must first apply for Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) approval by signing up for the UAE Twajudi Resident service by visiting MoFAIC.gov.ae – https://www.mofaic.gov.ae/en/Services/Twajudi-Resident

2. Once you have your ICA approval, you can book your ticket on emirates.com. Please note that if a flight is sold out it will show as not applicable. You can check the weekly calendar at the bottom of the page to select the next available date.

Remember: you must hold a valid UAE resident visa and ICA approval number – you will not be permitted to enter the UAE otherwise.

Upon arriving in UAE, guests undergo a mandatory DHA test on arrival; a mandatory 14 day quarantine and a follow up test before release.
