His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has opened the UAE’s new government season with a clear message to his teams: aim higher and work toward making the UAE government the best in the world.
The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai met ministers and senior officials during the annual New Government Season Meeting 2026–2027 on September 9.
The meeting reviewed achievements from the previous government season and outlined priorities, projects, and areas of focus for the months ahead.

A New Season With Bigger Ambitions
Sheikh Mohammed said each new government season begins with renewed energy, determination, and ambitions that reflect the level the UAE wants to achieve.
His message to government teams remained straightforward.
He said he wants the UAE government to be the best government in the world.
The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
Faster Projects and Better Government Services
Sheikh Mohammed called on government teams to increase their efforts during the 2026–2027 season.
Among the priorities are faster delivery of government projects, stronger coordination between government entities, and more efficient ways of working.
The government is also looking at how services can continue improving while agencies become more flexible and better prepared for change.
For UAE residents, these priorities could eventually be reflected in faster services, more connected government systems, and easier ways to deal with public agencies.
UAE Looks to Technology and National Talent
The meeting also discussed investment in Emirati talent and emerging technologies.
Government teams reviewed ways to strengthen the federal government system and use new technology to support the UAE’s competitiveness.
The goal is not only to improve existing services but also to build government systems that can respond quickly to future needs.
What This Means for UAE Residents
There are no new applications, rules, or deadlines for residents arising directly from this meeting.
Instead, the announcement signals the UAE government’s direction for the coming year.
Residents can expect continued focus on faster government services, digital systems, technology, and projects designed to improve daily life and strengthen the country’s global competitiveness.
The message from Sheikh Mohammed is also clear: past achievements are not the finish line.
The UAE is entering another government season with the goal of raising its standards even further.
