The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) announced that unvaccinated workers belonging to five business categories will need to undergo mandatory PCR testing every 14 days, starting March 28, 2021.
These business categories include hotels, transport, restaurant, health and social, and individual activities related to laundries, barbershops, and beauty salons.

In a circular issued by H.E. Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the decision was made in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), is part of the measures taken to limit the spread of the virus, preserve the health of employees, and keep work environments safe, WAM reported.
Meanwhile, only those who are vaccinated against COVID-19 are exempted from the mandatory 14-day testing.
In line with this, the Ministry also called on private sector entities to get inoculated and to coordinate with competent authorities to ensure that employees get access to vaccine doses.
