Travellers to Undergo Medical Thermal Checks in Dubai Entry Points Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Dubai authorities implement strict measures to screen passengers for coronavirus. Dubai has pulled out all stops to combat the coronavirus. Passengers arriving at Dubai Airports go through a full non-intrusive thermal screening.

Dubai Health Authority staff are at the airport 24/7 conducting tests right at the site whenever needed. Hospitals are fully prepared to handle confirmed cases.

Enhanced Screening Measures for Travellers Entering UAE from High-Risk Countries

Al Marri further added enhanced screening procedures have been set up for travellers entering the UAE from high-risk countries. These measures do not apply to transit passengers.

The enhanced screening procedures include a swab test and health questionnaire. Travellers should be aware that this may add 2-3 hours to their journey time, he pointed out. After the test, travellers are free to continue their journey. They will be contacted only if any further intervention is needed, such as reporting to a medical facility or self-quarantine.

Here’s a post from Dubai Media Office regarding the implementation in Dubai Airports:
