Dubai is implementing strict rules in its port of entries, both in airports and seaports, amid the new coronavirus, COVID-19, outbreak. Thermal screening checks have been put up in all travel points in order to screen passengers for coronavirus symptoms.

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police and Head of Dubai’s Crisis and Disaster Management Team, says that all concerned authorities are working round the clock, together with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention and Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) medical team to implement preventive measures against COVID-19 and ensure the highest levels of safety and protection for the public.
Travellers to Undergo Medical Thermal Checks in Dubai Entry Points Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
Dubai authorities implement strict measures to screen passengers for coronavirus. Dubai has pulled out all stops to combat the coronavirus. Passengers arriving at Dubai Airports go through a full non-intrusive thermal screening.
Dubai Health Authority staff are at the airport 24/7 conducting tests right at the site whenever needed. Hospitals are fully prepared to handle confirmed cases.

Enhanced Screening Measures for Travellers Entering UAE from High-Risk Countries
Al Marri further added enhanced screening procedures have been set up for travellers entering the UAE from high-risk countries. These measures do not apply to transit passengers.
The enhanced screening procedures include a swab test and health questionnaire. Travellers should be aware that this may add 2-3 hours to their journey time, he pointed out. After the test, travellers are free to continue their journey. They will be contacted only if any further intervention is needed, such as reporting to a medical facility or self-quarantine.

Dubai Ports World Thermal Screening for COVID-19
With the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, Dubai has enhanced its medical checks across all borders to ensure the safety and security of the residents and tourists. Medical checks including thermal screening are put into place which will identify any symptoms among passengers. The checks will be using the high-tech medical equipment.

Furthermore, Al Marri said that their team is working with all the concerned government authorities which include the Dubai Customs, Dubai Airports, DP World, Government of Dubai Media Office, Dubai Ambulance, RTA, Dubai Municipality, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, as well as other federal authorities to ensure the highest level of precautions.
