DUBAI: Drivers leaving Dubai World Trade Centre and One Central can now reach nearby main roads much faster following the opening of a new two-lane bridge.
The bridge has reduced the expected exit journey from around 10 minutes to only two minutes.
It directs vehicles from the Dubai World Trade Centre area towards the intersection of Al Mustaqbal Street and Za’abeel Palace Street.
The new route should be useful during major exhibitions, conferences, and business events, when thousands of workers and visitors travel through the district.
A more direct route out of DWTC
Before the bridge opened, drivers leaving Dubai World Trade Centre and One Central had to use slower surrounding routes.
The new connection allows vehicles to move towards Al Mustaqbal Street without passing through some of the busier local junctions.
It can also improve access to nearby districts such as Za’abeel, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, and Dubai International Financial Centre.
Drivers should still follow the road signs because traffic routes may change as the remaining construction continues.

Part of an AED633 million road upgrade
The bridge forms part of the Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project, which has a total cost of AED633 million.
The wider project covers the section between Za’abeel Palace Street and Financial Centre Street.
According to Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, the project includes bridges and tunnels with a combined length of about 1,700 metres. Al Mustaqbal Street will also be widened from three to four lanes in each direction.
Once the full work is completed, the road’s capacity is expected to rise by 33 percent, from 6,600 to 8,800 vehicles per hour in both directions.
Al Mustaqbal Street trips will become shorter
The complete road project is expected to cut the journey along Al Mustaqbal Street from 13 minutes to six minutes.
Three tunnels are also planned near the intersection of Al Mustaqbal Street and Trade Centre Street. These will support traffic travelling towards Deira, Jebel Ali, and One Central.
Other work includes free-flowing ramps, upgraded intersections, pedestrian paths, a cycling track, and a pedestrian bridge over Al Sukook Street.
The Al Mustaqbal Street work is connected to the larger Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project, which is improving traffic movement around one of Dubai’s busiest business and event districts.
