PHILIPPINES: OWWA has opened applications for three scholarship programs for qualified overseas Filipino workers and their dependents.
The application period began on September 7, 2026, with separate deadlines depending on the program and category.
Applicants can apply online through the official OWWA Scholarship Portal.

Two Scholarship Deadlines to Watch
For Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) Category 1 and the Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP), applications are open from:
September 7 to 17, 2026
For EDSP Category 2 and the OFW-Dependents Scholarship Program (ODSP), applications are open from:
September 7 to 27, 2026
Applicants are advised to submit their requirements early instead of waiting until the last day.
Applications are completed through the official scholarship portal:
EDSP Offers Up to Php 60,000 Per School Year
The Education for Development Scholarship Program is for qualified dependents of active OWWA members who want to take a four- or five-year college course in the Philippines.
OWWA provides financial assistance of up to Php 60,000 per school year.
The current scholarship portal separates EDSP applicants into two groups:
- Category 1: Incoming first-year college students
- Category 2: Students already enrolled in their second to fifth year of college
OWWA’s official scholarship portal says only the top 1,000 qualifiers are considered for incoming freshman slots, while 600 slots are available for qualified second- to fifth-year college applicants.
ODSP Gives ₱20,000 Per School Year
The OFW-Dependents Scholarship Program provides Php 20,000 per school year to qualified dependents of OFWs.
It may cover students taking a four- or five-year bachelor’s degree or an associate course at a college or university in the Philippines.
OWWA says the applicable OFW salary requirement will follow the guidelines issued for each school year’s application period.
CMWSP Supports Science and Technology Courses
The Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program is intended for qualified migrant workers or their immediate dependents who plan to study priority courses in science and technology.
Qualified scholars may receive up to Php 60,000 per school year until they complete a four- or five-year bachelor’s degree in the Philippines.
How to Apply for an OWWA Scholarship
Applicants should go directly to the OWWA Scholarship Online Application portal and select the scholarship program and category that applies to them.
OWWA’s 2026 Citizen’s Charter also identifies scholarship.owwa.gov.ph as the official online application channel during the prescribed application period. Applicants may be asked for documents such as proof of grades, valid identification, proof of relationship to the OFW member and proof of enrollment, depending on the scholarship category.
Applicants should check the portal for the complete and current requirements before submitting.

What OFW Families Should Know
The shortest application window ends on September 17, 2026, so families interested in EDSP Category 1 or CMWSP have limited time to complete their applications.
EDSP Category 2 and ODSP applicants have until September 27, 2026.
Applicants who need help may also contact the appropriate OWWA Regional Welfare Office. OWWA maintains an official directory with regional contact numbers and scholarship assistance channels.
