DUBAI: Filipinos in Dubai are being invited to learn practical life-saving skills through the new Agap: Dubai Heart Safe City Certification program.
The first session will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the Migrant Workers Office in Al Twar 4, Dubai.
The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai is organizing the activity with the Migrant Workers Office-Dubai and Hayat Institute.
The event is part of the Consulate’s Pasiklab Pinoy campaign, which promotes Filipino preparedness, excellence, and community support.
Why the Program Is Called “Agap”
The name “Agap” comes from the Filipino word “maagap,” which means being alert, prompt, and ready to act.
It reflects the importance of responding quickly before an emergency becomes worse.
The program also highlights the Filipino practice of helping others during difficult situations.
Through the training, participants can gain the confidence and knowledge needed to assist a family member, co-worker, or stranger while waiting for professional emergency responders.
Participants Will Learn CPR and AED Use
The session will provide training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, commonly known as CPR.
Participants will also learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator or AED.
An AED is a device that may be used to help a person experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
The training will also introduce the ASEFNI “Save Me” application, which is designed to support emergency response.
These skills may be useful at home, in the workplace, or in public areas.
Participants may also receive certification under the Dubai Heart Safe City framework, giving them an added skill that may support their personal and professional development.
More Training Sessions Planned in July
The July 10 activity is the first in a planned series of Agap sessions for Filipinos living in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Additional training dates and participation details are expected to be shared by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai.
