PHILIPPINES: Filipinos interested in diplomacy and international relations can soon apply for the 2027 Foreign Service Officer Examination (FSOE).
The Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Board of Foreign Service Examinations, will open applications on September 16, 2026.
The deadline is October 30, 2026, while the qualifying test is scheduled for January 24, 2027. The Civil Service Commission has also confirmed these dates in its official 2027 examination calendar.

What Does a Foreign Service Officer Do?
Foreign Service Officers represent the Philippines in embassies, consulates and other diplomatic missions.
Their work can cover political and economic affairs, consular services, assistance to Filipinos abroad, cultural diplomacy and relations with foreign governments and communities.
The examination is designed to recruit candidates for appointment as Foreign Service Officer, Class IV.
For Filipinos who want a government career with an international focus, the FSOE is one of the main entry routes into the Philippine Foreign Service.
Application Runs From Sept. 16 to Oct. 30
Applications will be accepted from September 16 until October 30, 2026.
The CSC says applications may be filed through the DFA Board of Foreign Service Examinations Secretariat, DFA satellite and consular offices, and Philippine foreign service posts abroad.
Filipinos living overseas may therefore be able to submit their applications through a Philippine embassy or consulate, depending on the instructions of their local post.
The DFA application form is also available through its official downloads page.
First Test Is on January 24, 2027
The first stage is the Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer, which also serves as the FSOE Qualifying Test.
It will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2027.
Passing this test allows an applicant to continue to the succeeding stages of the Foreign Service Officer examination process.
The full selection process includes further assessments administered by the DFA before a candidate can qualify for appointment.

Check the Requirements Before Applying
Applicants should review the latest DFA announcement carefully before submitting documents.
The DFA requires an accomplished and notarized application form together with supporting documents, and incomplete applications are not accepted.
Because requirements can change from one examination cycle to another, applicants should rely on the 2027 DFA and CSC announcements rather than older online guides.
Those interested can access the application information provided by Philippine consulates through the official DFA link shared in the announcement.
