The Dubai Health Authority has announced that a 16-year-old student of an Indian school in Dubai has tested positive for the new coronavirus (COVID-19). This was announced via post from the official Twitter account of the Dubai Health Authority.

The Dubai Health Authority mentions that the infection was contracted from the student’s parent who had travelled overseas. They are working closely with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and have issued instructions for classes in the school to be suspended. The school is being sanitized as per international best practices in preventive measures against the coronavirus.
Based on this latest announcement, the total number of reported COVID-19 cases in the UAE has reached 28.

In another Tweet, the Dubai Health Authority is also working closely with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and other authorities to take counter measures against the disease in accordance with World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations and standards.
