BREAKING: UAE extends visa amnesty for 3 months from 18th August 2020

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) announced the extension of the residency for visa violators for another 3 months and these violators will also be exempted from Fines.

Major General Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Director General of Foreigners Affairs and Ports at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, stated that the extension starts from 18th August 2020 to 17th November 2020 for visa holders whose visa expired before 1st March 2020 and includes exemption from all fines incurred by them on condition of leaving the country .

The authority said that this generous initiative was part of the series of national initiatives launched by the UAE and through which it has made focus the human element a priority in all its initiatives and decisions. Therefore, the state sought to develop laws and decisions that are in the interest of the individual and through which the exceptional circumstances are taken into account. Major General Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Director General of Foreigners Affairs and Ports at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, stated that the extension starts from 18th August 2020 to 17th November 2020 for visa holders whose visa expired before 1st March 2020 and includes exemption from all fines incurred by them on condition of leaving the country .

The Director General of Foreigners Affairs and Ports stated that the reward includes all violators of the Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners, as the restrictions listed against them will be paid without stamping the deprivation on the condition that they leave the country.

He added that visa holders wishing to leave from Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras al-Khaimah airports must arrive 6 hours before the flight.

As for those wishing to leave the country through Dubai Airport, they must visit the deportation center at the Civil Aviation Security Police near Terminal 2 48 hours before the flight.

Al-Rashidi explained that the authority has taken many exceptional measures for this blessing, as the violator will have to complete his procedures in only three steps, including securing the passport, securing the ticket, and arriving before the trip is sufficiently long.

And an operation room was equipped to answer all inquiries, as the number 800453 was assigned every day of the week from 8 in the morning until 10 in the evening, except on holidays.

His Excellency called on all concerned parties and groups to benefit from the blessing.

The authority affirmed that this decision will contribute positively to enhancing levels of security and safety in the UAE.
