UAE ICP Adds Tabby Installments for Residents

ABU DHABI: UAE residents can now pay selected ICP service fees through Tabby instalments, giving customers another way to manage payments for government services.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, or ICP, has expanded its payment options to include Tabby’s “buy now, pay later” service.

Through Tabby, customers may split service payments over 3 to 12 months for transactions of up to Dh20,000.

The option will still depend on the customer’s credit assessment.

What Services Are Covered?

ICP handles many services used by residents, visitors, and families in the UAE.

These include Emirates ID services, visa services, residency permits, family data services, nationality and passport-related services, and validation gateway services.

For many Filipino residents, this may apply when processing or renewing documents linked to legal stay, family sponsorship, or identity records.

The update does not mean all applications are approved through payment alone.

Applicants must still meet ICP requirements for the service they are applying for.

How the Tabby Payment Option Works

Customers can choose their preferred payment method when they reach the payment stage of an ICP application.

They may select Tabby if they want to split the service fee into instalments.

ICP said Tabby can be used for transactions of up to Dh20,000.

However, the final payment approval will depend on Tabby’s credit assessment of the customer.

This means some customers may be approved for instalments, while others may not qualify.

Residents should check the final payment terms shown before confirming the transaction.

Easy Payment Still Available

Tabby is not the only instalment option for ICP customers.

Last year, ICP launched its Easy Payment service in partnership with 10 national banks.

Under Easy Payment, credit card holders may split ICP service fees of Dh500 or more into instalments over 3 to 12 months.

The service is offered at zero percent interest, based on the report.

With the new update, customers may now choose between Tabby and Easy Payment, depending on which option fits their situation.
