UAE: Overseas Filipino workers in the UAE can join the second online orientation covering two Philippine education programs.
The Zoom session will be held on August 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. UAE time.
This is equal to 2:00 p.m. in the Philippines.
Participants must register before receiving the Zoom credentials.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration announcement specifically invites Filipino workers based in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Attendance may help overseas Filipino workers understand whether their professional background could support their return to college.
Years of work could earn academic credit
The orientation will discuss the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program, commonly known as ETEEAP.
ETEEAP recognizes knowledge and skills gained outside a traditional classroom.
Relevant employment, professional training, certifications, and other learning experiences may count toward the requirements of a college program.
However, the process is based on assessment.
A participating Philippine college or university will examine the applicant’s experience and compare it with the learning requirements of the chosen degree.
The review may involve employment certificates, training records, interviews, examinations, and portfolios.
According to the official ETEEAP portal, accepted applicants complete five main stages: application, document review, assessment, accreditation, and graduation.
Students may need to finish additional courses or other school requirements.
Education assistance is also on the agenda
The session will introduce the ETEEAP Online Enlistment System and show workers how to begin the process.
It will also explain the Lifelong Learning Education Assistance Program for Overseas Filipino Workers, or LEAP-OFWs.
LEAP-OFWs is intended to provide financial support to qualified overseas workers pursuing a bachelor’s degree through ETEEAP.
The orientation should help participants understand the eligibility rules, required records, application steps, and expenses covered by the program.
Workers should rely on the session and later official announcements for the final requirements.
