DUBAI: University students in the UAE can now get one year of Google AI Plus for free, giving them access to Google Gemini and several AI-powered study tools.
The UAE Artificial Intelligence Office announced the offer on September 3, 2026, in cooperation with Google. It is open to registered university students in the UAE who are 18 years old or above.
Students must register before December 31, 2026 to claim the offer.
Who Can Get the Free Google AI Plus Plan?
The offer is available to:
- Registered university students in the UAE
- Students aged 18 or older
- Eligible students who complete registration before December 31, 2026
Google says students may be asked to verify their university status by uploading a photo of their university ID and providing additional details.
This makes the offer useful not only for Emirati students, but also for eligible expat university students studying in the UAE.
What Is Included in the Free Plan?
The Google AI Plus plan gives students access to a range of tools for studying, research, organization, and content creation.
These include:
- Google Gemini with higher usage limits
- Advanced AI models
- Deep Research tools
- Gemini Notebook for study materials and summaries
- AI tools for generating images and videos
- Interactive study features
- 400 GB of cloud storage
The UAE AI Office said the tools can help students organize sources, summarize academic materials, prepare research, and work with interactive audio content.
Google also says its student tools can be used for study notebooks, practice quizzes, study plans, and research support.
How to Register
Students can register through Google’s official student offer page.
Google’s UAE and Arab-world student offer requires students to verify that they are currently enrolled at a university.
The basic process is:
- Go to the Google student offer page.
- Sign in using your personal Google account.
- Confirm that you are an active university student.
- Upload your university ID or complete the required student verification.
- Add the requested account and payment details.
- Activate the free one-year Google AI Plus plan.
Google’s current international student terms indicate that a valid payment method may be required during sign-up. The subscription may begin charging the regular monthly fee after the free period ends unless the user cancels earlier.
Register Before December 31
Eligible students have until December 31, 2026 to redeem the one-year offer.
Students who are interested should register early rather than wait until the final days, especially if university verification is required.
The programme is part of the UAE’s broader AI for All collaboration with Google, which was launched in 2024 to expand access to AI tools and digital skills.
The UAE AI Office also said virtual and in-person training sessions will be organized to help university students learn how to use Gemini and Gemini Notebook for studying and research.
Why This Matters for UAE Students
Paid AI tools can be expensive for students, especially when used throughout an academic year.
This offer gives eligible UAE university students access to more advanced AI tools without paying the subscription fee for 12 months.
Students can use the tools for tasks such as organizing notes, summarizing reading materials, preparing research, creating study plans, and exploring difficult topics.
However, students should still follow their university’s rules on AI use, citations, assignments, and academic integrity.
