UAE: The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and US Consulate General in Dubai have cancelled consular appointments scheduled from July 13 to 15, 2026.
The US Mission said the temporary move was made because of the regional security situation.
People with appointments during the three-day period were told not to travel to either diplomatic mission. Affected applicants will be contacted directly about rescheduling.
Visa Applicants Must Wait for New Instructions
The cancellation affects scheduled consular appointments at both the Abu Dhabi embassy and Dubai consulate.
Applicants should not go to the missions without confirmation, even when they already have an appointment notice.
They should monitor their registered email address, including their spam or junk folder, for messages about a new date.
The embassy did not announce a general reopening date for cancelled appointments.
Routine US Visa Processing Remains Suspended
The US Mission confirmed that routine US visa services in the UAE remain suspended until further notice.
This means regular tourist, business, student and other non-emergency visa applicants may continue to face delays.
The July 13 to 15 cancellation period should not be confused with the wider suspension. The three-day notice applies only to appointments, while routine visa services have no announced restart date.
Only Limited Help Available for Americans
The embassy and consulate remain under ordered-departure status.
Non-emergency US government personnel have been relocated outside the UAE, leaving both missions with fewer staff and limited consular capacity.
The US State Department’s UAE travel guidance says Americans should reconsider travel because of the threat of armed conflict and terrorism.
US citizens who need an emergency passport or urgent consular support should use the official US Citizen Services Navigator.
Consular staff will review the request and respond by email with instructions.
