In a recent news release from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) dated March 13, 2026, it was announced that 469 Filipinos from the UAE are set to return home to the Philippines. This repatriation effort comes as a response to requests for government assistance amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The special chartered flight, organized by the DMW, is scheduled to arrive at NAIA Terminal 3 on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, along with officials from the Migrant Workers Office in Dubai, will be present to welcome the returning Filipinos.

  • 195 Stranded Tourists: Individuals who were unable to return home due to travel restrictions or other complications.
  • 60 Dependents or Family Members: Accompanying their loved ones back to the Philippines.

This effort was made possible under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., with the DMW leading the coordination. The initiative involved multiple government agencies, including the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai.
