UAE Reaffirms Right to Self-Defense, Remains Neutral Amid Repeated Attacks

The United Arab Emirates has officially reaffirmed that it has not altered its defensive posture in response to repeated Iranian attacks, according to a statement released by the WAM News Agency on March 3, 2026.

The statement highlighted that the UAE has been subjected to more than one thousand attacks, a figure that exceeds the total faced by all other targeted nations combined. It emphasized that all these threats were intercepted and neutralized with the utmost professionalism and efficiency by the UAE Armed Forces.

Commitment to Neutrality and International Law

In its announcement, the UAE reiterated its official stance that it is not a party to the ongoing war. The nation affirmed that it has not permitted the use of its territory, territorial waters, or airspace for any attack against Iran. This position aligns with the UAE’s long-standing policy of promoting good neighborliness and de-escalation, as well as its firm commitment to the Charter of the United Nations.

While maintaining its neutral position, the UAE also underscored its legitimate right to self-defense, as recognized under international law and the UN Charter.

A Call for Journalistic Responsibility

The statement concluded with a crucial reminder about the importance of journalistic responsibility. It stressed the need for media outlets and individuals to rely on official, credible sources before publishing or circulating any reports. This call aims to prevent the spread of inaccurate or misleading information during a critical time.

The UAE government continues to manage the situation while calling for calm and urging the public to follow official channels for verified updates.
