VFS Global Opens In-Person Contract Verification Centers for OFWs in UAE

Overseas Filipino Workers in the UAE can now complete contract verification in person, as VFS Global officially rolled out Contract Verification Centers (CVCs) in Dubai and Abu Dhabi starting late January 2026.

The new centers are designed to support OFWs who need their employment contracts verified as part of the process for securing an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC). Contract verification itself remains the responsibility of the Philippine government, carried out by the Migrant Workers Office, while VFS Global operates the service facilities and appointment system.

What the new service offers

The CVCs allow OFWs to book appointments online, pay the required Migrant Workers Office verification fee through secure channels, and submit documents in person for checking. According to VFS Global, the service also includes extended operating hours, seven-day availability, and access to a 24/7 helpline to assist applicants.

Optional premium services are available for an additional fee. These include courier delivery for passports and verified documents, as well as real-time SMS updates so applicants can track their application status without repeated follow-ups.

To mark the launch, VFS Global waived its service fee for the first 30 days of operations. The waiver applied only to the service charge and not to the official verification fee collected on behalf of the Philippine government.

Steps on How to Verify Employment Contract in VFS Global UAE

  1. OFWs are required to book an appointment through the dedicated VFS Global website and settle the verification fee in advance.
  2. On the appointment date, applicants must visit the selected CVC and submit their original employment contract along with any supporting documents required by the Migrant Workers Office.
  3. Once verification is completed, applicants receive an email notification when their documents are ready for collection or dispatch, depending on whether they chose in-person pickup or courier return.

Who is involved

Aside from VFS Global and the Migrant Workers Office, the system is supported by DBP Data Centre Inc., which provides technical and data services for the platform.

What OFWs should know

The new centers aim to make contract verification faster and more accessible, especially for workers who prefer face-to-face submission and document checks. However, OFWs are advised to confirm the latest document requirements on the official VFS Global page before their appointment, as requirements may vary by case.

For now, the service is limited to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with no announcement yet on expansion to other emirates.

In Summary

OFWs in the UAE who need contract verification for OEC processing can now complete the step through a scheduled, in-person service with clearer tracking and optional delivery support, provided they book ahead and bring complete original documents.
