The UAE Person Code: What Is It and Where to Find It

In this post, we will share with you a guide on how you can easily locate and use the person code, which is one of the most important details that you need to know as you pursue a career here in the UAE.

First, let’s discuss what the person code is. A person code is a 14-digit number which contains your digital information as an employee in the UAE. Sounds awesome, right? The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) has access to employees’ personal information such as:

  • person code;
  • nationality;
  • date of birth; and
  • profession

These pieces of information are stored on the MOHRE’s online database so it can be easily accessed by both employees and employers thus removing the need for physical documents, which, in some cases become grounds for abuse of legal rights and freedom. Other information stored in the MOHRE’s database include the labour card detailspassport details of the employee, and employee company details.

The labour card details include:

  • labour card number
  • labour card issuance date
  • labour card expiry date

The passport details of the employee include:

  • passport number
  • passport issuance date
  • passport expiry date

And finally, the employee company details cover the following information:

  • company name
  • company code

If you’re wondering why the person code is such a big deal for workers in the UAE, you have to understand that your person code represents your identity as working resident in the country. With that, your person code provides you access to several government services such as checking your labour card, labour contract, Emirates ID application, MOHRE registration, etc. – all of which, as you will understand are all very important services if you wish to work and stay in the country.

How to Find your Person Code

Now that we understand how important a person code is, it’s quite surprising to know that many people still do not know where to look for it. Interestingly, getting your person code is also quite simple.

First, you need to register yourself as an employee using the MOHRE app. You can download the app either through the Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).

After you have downloaded the app, go ahead with the registration process.

Once you have successfully created an account (registered), open the app and log in.

Upon signing in, you will see your profile page with your full name, profile photo, and the 14-digit person code.

If you wish to check your employee details, just click on the dashboard button, to show your other profile information where you can find your visa details, labour contract, labour card, visa copy, a copy of your passport, and so on, which are all stored in the MOHRE’s online database.
