The Dubai Canal has been officially opened! During a night ceremony on a Wednesday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai inaugurated the 2nd phase of the Dubai Canal. The launch was help near Jumeirah Beach Park and at the time, some areas of Sheikh Zayed Road were closed.
This Dubai Water Canal project provides new opportunities in terms of water transport, and connecting the historical areas of the Deira to Business Bay and the canal itself.
Dubai Canal Inauguration
The inauguration was graced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; as well as other officials, businessmen and dignitaries .

The project features the longest promenade in the UAE, which spans to 12 kilometers, and will feature various residential and retail outlets, floating restaurants, etc. With each of these new developments bringing more opportunities for growth and employment to the residents.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed his enthusiasm for the developments of the country as the UAE aims to rank among the top nations of the world as well as progress its place as a hub for creativity and innovation.
