What Runners Can Expect in 2026

The Dubai Marathon will take place on Sunday, 1 February 2026, with race starts and finishes spread across key locations in Dubai. The Marathon will start on Al Taryam Road, while the 10km Road Race and 4km Fun Run will begin on Al Sufouh Road, near Madinat Jumeirah and in view of the Burj Al Arab. All races will finish at the Dubai Police Academy off Umm Suqeim Road, which also serves as the main access point to all start areas.

Start times are staggered throughout the morning to manage runner flow and safety:

  • Marathon Elite: 5:45 am

  • Marathon Masses: 6:30 am

  • 10km Road Race: 8:00 am

  • 4km Fun Run: 10:00 am

Participants are advised not to park along Jumeirah Beach Road, Al Sufouh, Madinat Jumeirah, or near the Police Academy due to extensive road closures.

Organizers recommend parking along Al Wasl Road junctions or in the Mall of the Emirates or Al Barsha areas, then walking to the start area via the Dubai Metro bridge.

Taxi users are encouraged to book in advance and arrive at least 90 minutes before their race start.

Run number collection will be held at The Agenda, Dubai Media City, on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, 28 January: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm

  • Thursday, 29 January: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm

  • Friday, 30 January: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm

  • Saturday, 31 January: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Runners are advised to collect their own race packs in person with proof of identity. Collection by a representative is allowed with a printed confirmation letter and valid ID.

All participants will receive official race t-shirts, finisher medals, and downloadable certificates, with the 4km event issuing participation certificates. Race-day temperatures are expected to be around 10–15°C at the start. Timing will be handled via the MikaTag electronic timing system, which is attached to the race bib.

Water stations, hydration drinks, toilets, medical support, baggage facilities, and entertainment areas will be available throughout the course and at the finish area. Marathon runners will have a 6-hour time limit, with phased road openings in place for safety.

A Major Milestone for the Event

Reaching its 25th year places the Dubai Marathon among the region’s most established sporting events. Since its early editions, the race has grown from a local competition into an international fixture on the running calendar.

Over the years, it has welcomed professional athletes, amateur runners, and fitness enthusiasts from across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The anniversary edition is expected to highlight this history while maintaining the race’s competitive edge.

More Than Just a Race

Beyond the run itself, the Dubai Marathon has become a broader community fitness event. Race weekends typically bring together runners, volunteers, spectators, and sponsors, creating a festival-like atmosphere along the course.

For many residents, the marathon also serves as a seasonal fitness goal, with runners beginning training months in advance. Gyms, running clubs, and fitness groups across the UAE often align their programs around the race date.
