Dubai Royal Family’s First Female Commercial Pilot

Social media is buzzing with excitement as pictures of the Al Maktoum family’s first female pilot are trending on Instagram. Sheikha Mozah Al Maktoum, a member of Dubai’s ruling family, has just completed her first assisted flight as a commercial pilot.

On Sunday, Sheikha Lateefa (her aunt) posted a photo of Shaikha Mozah on Instagram, congratulating her niece on her achievement. Her post, in Arabic, proudly says: “Mozah Marwan. My sister’s daughter. The first female pilot in the family, who is on her first assisted flight as a commercial pilot for Emirates. As long as you can dream it, you can achieve it.”

Shaikha Mozah became a certified commercial pilot on April 26, 2016, as her Instagram post shows. She has also posted an amazing view captured from the airplane’s flight deck:

Pleasure is on the other side.

Learning how to pilot a plane is not an easy feat. But Shaikha Mozah focused on her dream and passed the test with flying colors. She is a gem that makes the Al Maktoum family — along with all the people of Dubai — very proud, indeed.
