How to Check Emirates ID Fine Online

Aside from your passport, another important document that you should always take care of is your Emirates ID or UAE Resident Identity Card. This card is used in almost all government transactions, so you should always make sure that your Emirates ID is valid or updated.

Other then being an identity card, the Emirates ID is also used to keep track of violations and fines. Whenever a UAE resident breaks a traffic rule, commits a municipality violation or other actions — he/she incurs a fine, which needs to be settled accordingly. Otherwise, he/she may not be able to use and renew his/her Emirates ID.

Guide to Checking Emirates ID Fine Online

As mentioned earlier, a resident who breaks traffic rules, municipality regulations, immigration laws, or other rules could face fines… or even jail time! Laws are meant to be followed, after all, and the penalty amount depends on the specific law or rule that was broken.

As for the Emirates ID, there are certain fines that are charged against this identity card. And so, before anything else, let us talk about the types of fines involved.

Types of Emirates ID Fines

Other than Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) fines and traffic fines, here are several types of fines/violations that are charged against a person’s Emirates ID:

  • Municipality violations;
  • COVID-19 violations;
  • Jaywalking violation;
  • Late Emirates ID registration; and
  • Other individual violations.

Fines may range between AED 100 and AED 10,000 — depending on the specific law and severity of the offense. Obviously, these fines need to be paid; otherwise, they will remain recorded in the Emirates identity system. You won’t be able to renew your Emirates ID unless you pay all of your outstanding fines.
