This year’s edition of Dubai Design Week may have officially ended, but you may still be able to see some pretty cool art work at the venue. One of these is a giant 3D multidimensional sculpture featuring two of Dubai’s most prominent leaders, as reported by Khaleej Times.
This unique art installation combines portraits of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
3D Sculpture Featuring Dubai Ruler & Crown Prince
Entitled “Vision/Mission,” the artwork was commissioned by Kart Group, whose Managing Director, Mustafa Khamash said that it inspires reflection about “the culture of leadership across generations.” In this case, it highlights the authority and responsibility passed from father to son.
Moreover, Khamash explained that the 3D sculpture:
- Consists of aluminum metal sheets, arranged in layers
- Measures 2.7 m in height, 1.7 m in width, and weighs 1,600 kg
- Took 2 weeks for the team to design, and 2 months for them to complete
The Managing Director also shared that their artwork has received positive reactions from visitors, especially since it is featured in an “open-air” venue. The sculpture becoming a permanent installation has yet to be confirmed, although Khamash and his team certainly hope so.
Interestingly, HH Sheikh Mohammed saw the 3D artwork when he visited the Dubai Design District recently:

Indeed, the 3D sculpture engages us to reflect about our community leaders. Speaking of which, the UAE National Day is coming soon, and we’re all looking forward to a long holiday weekend!
