The Scorpion 3 is a modified motorbike operating on four rotors to help it take flight. The vehicle was designed and produced by a California- based firm Hoversurf.

The motorbike only weighs 114 kg primarily due to is carbon-fibre monocoque frame. Because of its small size, the motorbike can take off and land on any regular parking space.

According to the Hoversurf website, the lightweight frame can accommodate a larger battery which gives the vehicle a longer operating time.

Its maximum speed, however, is limited to 96 kmph (60 mph or 52 knots) as per the requirements of the law.

The Scorpion 3 is expected to be integrated into the Dubai Police Service by 2020.

For now, the Dubai police officers are diligent at training to fully maximise the new technology that will help out in security operations and monitoring within the city in the near future.
