UAE Eid Al Fitr 2016: 2 Paid Holidays for Private Sector

The 2 days of Shawwal are expected to fall on July 6 and 7 (Wednesday and Thursday). When coupled with the Friday and Saturday weekends, UAE residents working in the private sector may get a 4-day break. But please be advised that these dates are still dependent on the sighting of the moon as we are following the Islamic calendar. Furthermore, we will announce the confirmed dates soon.

5-Day Holiday for Public Sector

As for the public sector, Federal entities will have a 5-day holiday starting July 3 and will resume work on July 10. When coupled with the 2 weekends before and after the 5-day holiday, this will be a total of 9-day break for government employees.

Eid Al Fitr is the day that marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
