A rescue helicopter has crashed in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah and its crew passengers were killed. The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced the crash of Agusta 139 helicopter during a rescue mission next to Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah.
Jebel Jais is located in Ras Al Khaimah and is the highest mountain of the UAE. This is a popular tourist destination where residents and visitors drive up to the mountain. This is also where the world’s longest zip line can be found.
The crash took place at about 5.50 pm on Saturday.

RAK Ruler Orders Immediate Investigation
In a statement release by WAM news agency, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has ordered immediate investigation into the crash of a rescue helicopter next to Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah and the death of its crew.
H.H. Sheikh Saud has also ordered a comprehensive investigation into the safety and security arrangements and measures followed in the incident venue to identify the causes behind the crash.
