Places to Visit in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE

Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is one of the seven emirates of the UAE. It is located in the northern part of the country, along the east of the Persian Gulf. With an area of 1700 square kilometres, it is the fourth-largest emirate in the country.

About 50 percent of the population of Ras Al Khaimah are nationals or Emiratis. Arabic is the official language, although English is also widely used. Recently, the emirate has begun expanding its business and tourism sectors, making it one of the country’s top destinations.

What can you see at Ras Al Khaimah? Here are just some of the emirate’s sights and wonders:

Camel Race Track
The Camel Race Track at Ras Al Khaimah is just one of the 15 camel racing tracks across the entire country. Measuring 10 kilometers in length, it holds exciting camel races every week, as well as the Camel Race Festival every February.

Dhayah Fort
The Dhayah Fort is a fort situated on the top of a hill. It was built way back in the 19th century, when it was used for military purposes. Today, the fort offers a picturesque view of mountains, palm trees, and gorgeous gardens.

Emirates Maritime Sports and Diving Center
The Emirates Maritime Sports and Diving Center is a place for water sports and diving enthusiasts. It has coral reefs and shipwrecks that divers love to explore. The center also provides diving equipment, training, and even thrilling diving tours.

Iceland Water Park
As the name suggests, the Iceland Water Park features ice ride facilities, ice skating rinks, and other exciting facilities. The park can accommodate up to 15,000 visitors in a day! Football players will have a blast at the Wet Football field, while others will love the rain dance pool.

Khatts Spring Oasis and Resort
The Khatts Spring Oasis and Resort is situated in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful palm trees. It looks very much like a castle straight out of a fairy tale. The resort includes cafes, hot springs, and private pools where visitors can simply relax.

Manar Mall
The Manar Mall is one of the first leisure and commercial establishments in the emirate. It houses over 150 retail stores, six cinemas, dining areas, entertainment centers, and even a beach with a gorgeous promenade.

Ras Al Khaimah National Museum
The Ras Al Khaimah National Museum used to be a fort as well as residence of the emirate’s ruler. It was built using coral, mortar, stone, and wadi – materials used in traditional Arabic architecture. It displays fossils, rocks, shells, silver collections, and other historic items.

Ras Al Khaimah Shooting Club
The Ras Al Khaimah Shooting Club is just a 20-minute drive from the emirate’s international airport. The club includes different types of weapons and shooting ranges. It also has a cafeteria and a play area for children.

Ras Al Khaimah Water Ski Club
The Ras Al Khaimah Water Ski Club is often frequented by water ski sports enthusiasts. It provides water skiers with all the equipment they need to enjoy their hobby.

Saqr Park
The Saqr Park is the perfect destination for kids and the entire family. It includes exciting rides, such as the Big Splash, kiddie rides, and a rollercoaster. Notably, it is the only amusement park in the entire emirate.

Tower Links Golf Course
The Tower Links Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 course that is perfect for golf enthusiasts. At night, players can use the floodlit area at the back. The course is also a great venue for golf tournaments catering to beginners as well as expert players.
