Repatriated OFWs Get Full Cash Access + Loan Relief from Pag-IBIG

PHILIPPINES: Repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) can now get faster financial support through a newly approved Pag-IBIG Fund benefits package, aimed at helping them recover from the ongoing Middle East crisis.

The program allows qualified members to access their savings early and get temporary relief from housing loan payments as they rebuild their lives in the Philippines.

Repatriated OFWs Get Full Cash Access + Loan Relief from Pag-IBIG

Can OFWs withdraw 100% of their Pag-IBIG savings?

Yes. Qualified OFWs can withdraw up to 100% of their Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, including:

  • Employee contributions
  • Employer contributions
  • Dividends earned

This can be done even before the usual 20-year maturity period, giving returning workers immediate access to cash for urgent needs.

What happens to MP2 savings if an OFW is repatriated?

OFWs can also withdraw their Modified Pag-IBIG II (MP2) savings in full.

  • Up to 100% withdrawal allowed
  • Includes all dividends or earnings
  • No need to wait for the 5-year maturity

This gives OFWs more flexibility, especially for expenses like food, rent, or restarting a small business after returning home.

What is a 3-month housing loan moratorium?

For OFWs with housing loans, Pag-IBIG offers a 3-month payment pause.

During this period:

No monthly payments required
No interest or penalties charged

This gives borrowers breathing room while they adjust after losing jobs or income due to the crisis.

Does the loan term change after the payment pause?

Yes. The loan term will be extended by three months.

This means:

Missed payments are not added as penalties
Instead, the loan timeline simply moves forward

It helps OFWs avoid extra financial burden while still keeping their housing loans in good standing.

Fast access and nationwide support

Pag-IBIG says applications can be done:

Online through Virtual Pag-IBIG
In over 200 branches and OFW centers nationwide

The goal is to make assistance fast, simple, and accessible, especially for families who need immediate financial help.
