A ship had grounded at the waterfront area of Deira Island recently, capsizing and causing sailors to fall into the sea. Fortunately, teams from the Port Police Station and Dubai Marine Rescue came to save them!

Based on a post by Dubai Police on Facebook, the teams were able to rescue seven sailors, two of whom had fallen into the sea when their ship capsized. It’s amazing that they were able to carry out the mission despite the rainy weather!
Rescue Teams Save Sailors from Capsized Ship
According to the Acting Director of the Port Police Station, Colonel Saeed Al-Madhani, the Maritime Rescue Team responded immediately when they received a for help. In spite of the high waves, poor visibility, and bad weather conditions — they were able to conduct the rescue.
“Although it wasn’t equipped with advanced GPS systems, rescue teams were able to locate the ship and rescued five crew members, and they were also able to rescue another after he had been pulled away by strong waves,” Colonel Al-Madhani stated.
“Meanwhile, they rescued the remaining crew member with a broken leg of the nearby breakwater area,” he added. The Acting Director also reminded everyone to dial 901 for general inquiries, and to call 999 in cases of emergency.
The Dubai Police also posted some reminders for staying safe during rainy weather. This includes being extra careful when driving, and staying away from valleys and water-filled areas when weather conditions are unstable.
