AED 50,000 Fine: Dubai Police Impound Two Cars Over Reckless Driving

Dubai Police recently took strong action against reckless driving by confiscating two cars involved in dangerous stunts on public roads. The drivers were performing these stunts to gain attention on social media.

Police officials discovered two videos shared widely online. These videos showed the drivers dangerously climbing onto the hoods of their moving cars to record social media content. Such stunts not only put the drivers at risk but also endangered the lives of others on the road.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said this behavior is a serious threat to public safety and a clear violation of traffic laws.

Strict Actions by Dubai Police

Following the investigation, Dubai Police impounded both cars. The drivers are now facing the consequences of their actions under Decree No. 30 of 2023. This law demands a payment of AED 50,000 to release any cars used for such dangerous activities.

Brigadier bin Suwaidan emphasized that the police follow a “zero tolerance” policy for anyone engaging in reckless stunts. He pointed out that public roads are not meant for stunts or any dangerous behavior.

Warning To Others

Brigadier bin Suwaidan warned that using social media as an excuse to commit unsafe acts is not acceptable. Promoting such behavior online is not only irresponsible but also illegal. Dubai Police reminded everyone that safety should be the top priority.

Dubai Police also encouraged the public to help keep the roads safe. People can report any unsafe or suspicious behavior by using the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police App, or they can call the non-emergency number 901.

This is a strong message from Dubai Police to ensure public safety. Reckless driving and promoting dangerous stunts online will not be tolerated. Everyone is urged to follow traffic laws and think about the safety of others on the road.
