Dubai Police have successfully recovered a jeweler’s bag containing AED 1.1 million worth of diamonds. This incredible operation was made possible through international cooperation with Bangladeshi authorities and the UAE Embassy in Dhaka.

The Incident
The jeweler, a UAE resident, traveled to a GCC country for a jewelry exhibition. He carried four bags of precious diamonds. However, upon arrival, he realized one of the bags wasn’t his. Shocked, he returned to Dubai and reported the issue to the General Department of Airport Security.
This was a case of mistaken bags. A Bangladeshi traveler had accidentally taken the jeweler’s bag during security checks, as the bags looked very similar. The jeweler, in turn, unknowingly picked up the traveler’s bag. The Bangladeshi traveler then flew back to his home country with the jeweler’s bag.
