The UAE Cabinet on Monday, September 7, has signed into law a national policy that will ensure the provision of quality vaccines all over the country.

In light of the recent health crisis, the policy aims to raise awareness about the importance of vaccines and support innovation and research in this field. The policy also includes provisions to safeguard public health during emergencies and disease outbreaks.

UAE Cabinet OKs National Vaccination Policy to Combat Spread of Existing and Emerging Communicable Diseases
The National Policy on Vaccinations, a multi-sectoral framework for combating communicable diseases and reducing their risks to individuals and society, was approved by the UAE Cabinet chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Khaleej Times reported.
The policy will also serve as a coordination framework for all parties involved in the immunization field “in order to support the health system in the country and enhance the efficiency of services”.
The policy also aims to bridge the services offered by the non-governmental sector and community members to support the UAE’s fight against infectious diseases through the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. It will ensure the delivery of the best quality of vaccination services and preventive care nationwide.
The UAE Cabinet also aims to leverage on the newly approved policy to enhance the country’s position as a regional and international healthcare hub.
