His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has said that the Government of Dubai is fully committed to supporting Emirates Airline during the current global climate.

Sheikh Hamdan affirms Dubai Government’s full support to Emirates Airline
Sheikh Hamdan shares in a Facebook post: “Today, we renew our commitment to support a success story that started in the mid-1980s to reach its goal of sitting on the throne of global aviation. The Government of Dubai is committed to fully supporting Emirates at this critical time & will inject equity into the company. Emirates, our national carrier, positioned Dubai as an global travel hub and has great strategic value as one of the main pillars of Dubai’s economy, as well as the wider economy of the UAE. We will announce further details about the equity injection and more measures soon.”

As a shareholder of Emirates, the Government of Dubai will inject equity into the company, considering its strategic importance to the Dubai and UAE economy, and the airline’s key role in positioning the emirate as a major international aviation hub. Further details in this regard will be announced at a later stage, Sheikh Hamdan said.
