Filipina with Kuwait ID Dies on Bus on Her Way to Hometown in Philippines

NEGROS ORIENTAL, Philippines- Wilma Auza, a 41-year-old Filipina, passed away while traveling on a bus in the, where she was found with a Kuwait Civil ID, cash, and other belongings. She was on her way to her hometown in Negros Oriental, taking a Ceres Bus from Cebu South Bus Terminal to Dumaguete City after flying in from Japan.

Wilma was found unresponsive by fellow passengers and the bus conductor. She had been wearing a white T-shirt, jeans, and white Adidas sneakers. Before the bus stopped in Sibulan town, the conductor realized there was something wrong. A passenger checked for her pulse and found that she had already passed away.

Heart Attack Confirmed

The local authorities and police investigated the incident. Dr. Dave Luke Montenegro later confirmed that the cause of Wilma’s death was an Acute Ischemic Attack, which is a form of heart attack.

A witness mentioned that Wilma had vomited earlier during the trip, but no one thought her condition was serious. Sadly, she did not survive to reach her destination.

Personal Belongings Found

When police inspected Wilma’s belongings, they found some significant items with her. These included a passport, P17,000 in cash, and a Kuwait Civil ID card. The ID was still valid until December 20, 2024.

While her family stated she had been traveling from Kuwait before arriving in Japan, her flight record only confirmed a ticket from Nagoya, Japan, to Manila on August 3.

Family and Reaction

Wilma’s death was confirmed by her sister-in-law, Miles Auza, who shared her condolences through social media. She stated, “Condolence to the immediate family of my sister-in-law Wilma Auza who passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest while on board a Ceres Bus going home to Dumaguete City.”

News of this tragedy quickly spread on social media, with many netizens sharing their sympathies and extending condolences to the family. Some users discussed the need for stricter health checks for passengers taking long-distance trips to prevent similar events in the future.

Wilma’s remains have been taken to a funeral home in Sibulan town. Her family, who live in Barangay San Isidoro, Manjuyod, are now preparing for her final farewell in her beloved hometown.
