A 27-year-old Arab national has been apprehended and prosecuted on attempted robbery charges after he attacked a supermarket’s cashier employee with a knife in Dubai.

The incident took place last November. The suspect entered the store and attacked the cashier with a knife before he emptied their cash register with loot amounting to AED 8,800.
Arab Man Caught Stealing AED 8,800 from Dubai Supermarket
In a statement shared by the victim, the defendant threatened to hurt her if she did not hand all the money to him, the Gulf Today reported.
When the manager heard the screams of the cashier, he went to aid her immediately. He attempted to tackle the defendant but was also threatened with the knife.
During the incident, the burglar managed to steal AED 8,800 from the cash box, and grabbed the manager’s phone before fleeing.
Luckily, the store’s security guard was on stand-by and successfully caught the defendant until the police arrived at the scene.
