The UAE has announced the holiday for employees in the public/federal/government sector on November 18, 2018 – Sunday in celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. This was declared in a post from the official Twitter account of the UAE Government (@UAEGov).
With this declaration, workers in the government offices will get a long weekend from Friday – November 16 to Sunday – November 18, Sunday. Work is set to resume on Monday – November 19.

Long Weekend for Prophet Muhammad Birthday in UAE
The Islamic Affairs Charitable Activities Department of the Government of Dubai initially announced that the holiday date was on Tuesday – November 20. But this was later decided to be moved to November 18.
This announcement is currently for workers in the public sector. Private sector employees will have to wait for official announcement. We will keep you posted for updates.
