Souq Madinat Jumeirah offers tourists an area similar to the traditional souqs of Old Dubai, except it is in a covered and air-conditioned arcade. It offers a special dining, entertainment and shopping destination but in a more relaxing ambiance.
You can see waterfront restaurants and cafes as well as bars. It also has some shops and art galleries. If you have some folks or tourist friends who are a bit sensitive to the heat especially during summer time, but still want to explore and see the traditional Dubai setting, the marketplace in Souq Madinat would be a great fit.
