The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, recently honoured this year’s UAE Pioneer Awardees, which include the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Metro, Emirates, KhalifaSat, and other winners.
The UAE Pioneers Awards was founded in 2014 to recognise outstanding companies, organisations, and attractions across the emirates. This year’s awarding ceremony was held in Abu Dhabi, right after the conclusion of the UAE’s Annual Government Meetings.

HH Sheikh Mohammed Honours UAE Pioneer Awardees
“At the end of our annual meeting for National Day celebrations, we honored the UAE Pioneers’ national achievements that Sheikh Zayed will be proud of,” HH Sheikh Mohammed said. “Congratulations to all our winners and congratulations to Sheikh Zayed for all the hard work and efforts which will preserve his legacy for an eternity.”
The winners are decided by public voting. Residents voted for the entries which they believe the UAE founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, would be proud of today.
Among the UAE Pioneer Awardees of 2018 was the Burj Khalifa, which placed the UAE in the world map for being the tallest skyscraper in the world.
