List of Catholic Churches in the UAE

Earlier this year, a historic moment took place… that of Pope Francis’ visit to the UAE. His visit was the first in a predominantly Muslim nation, making it a significant occasion, indeed! As a Filipino, I am glad that the government has shown tolerance for expats to practice their faith. In the UAE, there are quite a number of Catholic churches where you can visit.

There are almost one million Catholics in the UAE. Many of them come from India, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines, as well as from parts of Europe, Africa, and South America. Hence, there are several Catholic Churches situated across different parts of the emirates.

Aside from these churches, there are also “sub centres” at Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi, at Kalba and Khorfakkan in Sharjah, and at the coastal area of Dibba.
