VIDEO: Man Airlifted After Major Collision on UAE Road

The air flight rescue services of the Abu Dhabi Police airlifted an Asian man involved in a vehicular accident in the UAE last Thursday (November 22). Meanwhile, the other person involved in the accident was attended to by the ambulatory paramedics of the Public Safety and Emergency Directorate.

A light bus and a heavy truck had collided along Truck Road just before they entered the Al Ajban Bridge towards Al Faya in Abu Dhabi. Both drivers had sustained physical injuries, but one had to be airlifted due to his condition. Both had been admitted to Al Rahba hospital for medical treatment.

شرطة أبوظبي تسعف جواً وأرضاً آسيويين أصيبا في تصادم شاحنة  مع باص . .  نقلت طائرة الإسعاف الجوي بطيران شرطة أبوظبي شخصاً من الجنسية الآسيوية و قدمت طواقم الإسعاف “الأرضي” بمديرية الطوارئ والسلامة العامة الرعاية  لشخص آخر من نفس الجنسية بعد تعرضهما للإصابة في حادث تصادم وقع اليوم ( الخميس) بين شاحنة وباص خفيف على طريق الشاحنات  قبل جسر العجبان باتجاه الفايه وجرى نقلهما إلى مستشفى الرحبة لتلقي العلاج. وأوضح العميد سالم بن براك الظاهري مدير إدارة مرور المناطق الخارجية في مديرية المرور والدوريات بشرطة ابوظبي ، بأن التحقيقات الأولية أرجعت أسباب الحادث إلى الدوران الخاطئ وعدم التزام سائق الشاحنة الثقيلة بخط السير . ودعاً الظاهري، قائدي المركبات ومستخدمي الطريق إلى أخذ الحيطة والحذر ، والالتزام بخط السير  وتجنب الانحراف ،والتقيد بالسرعات المقررة، وعدم الانشغال بغير الطريق. وكان مركز القيادة والتحكم بإدارة العمليات بقطاع العمليات المركزية في شرطة أبوظبي تلقى بلاغاً، بوقوع الحادث وقامت الجهات المختصة في شرطة ابوظبي بتأمين الموقع ،وتخطيط الحادث. #الإمارات #أبوظبي #شرطة_أبوظبي #الإعلام_الأمني ‎‏#UAE #AbuDhabi #ADPolice ‎‏#security_media

WATCH: Asian Man Airlifted After Major Road Accident in UAE

According to Brigadier Salem bin Brak Al Dhaheiri, Director of the Peripheral Areas Traffic Department, of Abu Dhabi police’s Traffic and Patrols Directorate, the initial investigation revealed that accident occurred because the truck driver had committed a wrong U-turn and did not observe lane discipline while driving on the road.

Following the incident, Al Dhaheiri had urged motorists and road users to heed caution when driving, exercise proper lane discipline, avoid reckless swerving, and to stick to speed limits on the road in order to avoid such kinds of incidents.

With the holiday season already upon us, more motorists are expected to be out on the road. And with the recent changes in weather conditions in the country, it’s important for drivers to be mindful of their road etiquettes.

Moreover, the Abu Dhabi Police has launched a number of initiatives to reinforce road safety by raising the awareness of residents through social media, and by soliciting feedback from citizens through #yourcomment in order to come up with better solutions in addressing problems of this nature.
