40 Dubai Tunnels Will Soon Turn Into Public Art
Dubai Culture and RTA have opened applications for Emirati and UAE based artists, designers, and architects to turn more than 40 Dubai road tunnels into permanent public art spaces. The project supports the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and accepts submissions until June 15, 2026, at 23:59 UAE time.
9,753 Vehicles Towed in Dubai Parking Crackdown
Dubai’s RTA recorded 9,753 random parking and right-of-way violations in 2025. Vehicles found breaching rules were towed and impounded at Lehbab Yard. Authorities said the crackdown aims to protect traffic flow, pedestrian safety, public infrastructure, and Dubai’s clean urban appearance.
UAE Customs Foils Cocaine Smuggling Attempt at Zayed International Airport
UAE customs officers foiled a cocaine smuggling attempt at Zayed International Airport after detecting suspicious signs from an arriving passenger. Medical checks later found 100 cocaine capsules hidden inside the passenger’s body, weighing 1,418 grams. The suspect and seized drugs were referred to authorities for legal action.
MWO Dubai Says 81% of First-Round Cash Aid, 3298 Applications Approved
MWO Dubai said 3,298 out of 4,063 first-round applications for DMW one-time financial assistance were approved. The aid is for land-based OFWs in the UAE affected by the US-Israel-Iran conflict. As of May 12, 2,367 had collected the aid, while 931 were still pending collection.
