UAE Weather 45°C Heat and Stronger Winds Expected

UAE: Residents should prepare for hotter days as the National Center of Meteorology forecasts high temperatures, stronger winds, and dusty conditions in parts of the country this week.

According to NCM’s weather bulletin for Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the weather will be generally fair, with clouds expected to appear toward the eastern areas by afternoon. The report also notes light to moderate winds that may become fresh at times.

Inland Areas Face the Highest Heat

The hottest conditions are expected in internal areas, where temperatures may reach between 40°C and 45°C. Coastal and island areas may see highs between 34°C and 39°C, while mountain areas are expected to stay lower at 27°C to 32°C.

For workers, delivery riders, commuters, and residents who spend time outside, this means extra care is needed during the hottest hours of the day. Even short outdoor errands can feel difficult when temperatures climb above 40°C.

Winds May Feel Stronger by the Weekend

NCM said winds on Wednesday may blow from southeasterly to northwesterly directions at 10 to 25 km/h, reaching 35 km/h at times across coastal, internal, and mountain areas.

By Friday and through the weekend, wind speeds may reach 40 km/h, especially over the sea. This may affect sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf, which may become rough at times.

Dust Could Affect Outdoor Plans

Saturday and Sunday are expected to be fair in general but dusty at times. NCM said northwesterly winds may cause blowing dust and sand over land, especially during fresher wind periods.

This matters for residents with asthma, allergies, or breathing problems. It may also affect visibility for drivers in open roads, desert areas, and construction zones.

What Residents Should Do Now

Residents are advised to drink enough water, avoid long outdoor activities during peak heat, and take breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas. Those working outside should be extra careful and watch for signs of heat stress, such as dizziness, headache, or unusual tiredness.

Drivers should also be alert if dusty conditions reduce visibility over the weekend.

For now, this is an awareness update. Residents should follow NCM updates in case weather conditions change suddenly.
