DUBAI: Al Mamzar Beach has officially reopened to the public with major new features, giving residents another upgraded outdoor destination for summer leisure, fitness, and family time.
Dubai Municipality opened the beach on Tuesday, May 5, as the first phase of the wider Dh500 million Al Mamzar Beaches project. The project also covers the Al Mamzar Corniche, which is part of the larger plan to improve the area for beachgoers, families, athletes, and visitors.

A Bigger Beach Day, Even After Sunset
One of the main additions is the night beach, which allows residents to enjoy swimming after regular daytime hours.
This is useful during the hotter months, when many residents prefer outdoor activities in the evening instead of under the strong afternoon sun. Night swimming also gives workers and families more flexible time to visit after school or work.
For Filipino residents and other expats who often plan beach gatherings on weekends or after duty hours, this upgrade makes Al Mamzar a more practical option.
More Than Just Swimming
The reopened beach now offers a wider mix of activities. New features include water sports facilities, padel courts, playgrounds, and dedicated cycling and running tracks.
This means visitors can use the beach not only for swimming, but also for exercise, casual sports, and family activities. The new tracks may also help residents who want a safer and more organized place to walk, jog, or cycle near the water.
For parents, the added playgrounds can make beach trips easier, especially when visiting with children.
Floating Walkway Adds a New Experience
Another highlight is the floating walkway, which gives visitors a different way to enjoy the beach area.
The walkway adds a scenic feature for residents who want to take photos, walk near the water, or enjoy the view without doing heavy physical activity. It also helps make the destination feel more modern and visitor-friendly.
Part of an AED 500 Million Upgrade
The reopening marks only the first phase of the Al Mamzar Beaches project. The full project, valued at Dh500 million, is expected to improve both Al Mamzar Beach and Al Mamzar Corniche.
For now, residents can already visit the reopened beach and enjoy the new facilities available in this phase.
What Residents Should Know Before Going
As the Al Mamzar Beach reopens to the public, visitors are encouraged to check official Dubai Municipality updates for operating hours, access rules, and any guidelines for night swimming or water sports.
This is good news for residents looking for a refreshed beach destination, especially as Dubai enters hotter months and evening outdoor activities become more appealing.
