The Dubai Fitness Challenge will be back once again! The city’s flagship fitness initiative, launched by Dubai Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum last year, will return for its second run next month!
According to Dubai Tourism, this year’s event will take place from October 19 – November 17, 2018. For 30 days, the entire Dubai community will be invited to participate in a variety of fitness activities across the city, as reported by WAM News Agency.
Coming Soon: Dubai Fitness Challenge 2018
To refresh your memories, the Dubai Fitness Challenge urges everyone to engage in 30 minutes of exercise for 30 days. Last year, both the public and private sectors joined the initiative — with almost 800,000 participants attending different fitness events across Dubai and the UAE!
This year, organisers are aiming for bigger targets and more activities, namely:
- One million participants
- Variety of fitness activities
- Trending workout routines
- Weekend fitness carnivals
- Fitness villages across Dubai
- Free admission to sports facilities
Notably, the Dubai Fitness Challenge is the first of its kind in the world. Imagine an entire city — people of all cultures and ages — joining a fitness movement! Fitness activities include:
- Cycling
- Football
- Group fitness classes
- Intense fitness regimes
- Paddle boarding
- Team sports
- Walking
- Yoga
… and many, many more!
Other than offering physical activities, the event will also pave the way for greater social action — building friendship and camaraderie among Dubai’s citizens and residents. Even if you’re not much of an exercise buff, the initiative is bound to get you into the fitness habit!
