KUWAIT, June 3, 2026: Police in Kuwait have arrested a man suspected of robbing an exchange company branch in the Al Shaab area. The arrest was made by the Criminal Security Sector through the General Department of Criminal Investigations, after a careful search and investigation helped officers track him down.

The Ministry of Interior said the suspect is a Filipino national.

What Happened

The Ministry said the case started when its operations room got a report that someone had robbed an exchange company branch in Shaab. Officers quickly went to the scene to take action.

Staff at the branch said the suspect wore a mask and held a weapon, which later turned out to be fake. He was also carrying a container with a liquid believed to be gasoline. According to the statement, he threatened the workers and attacked several of them. He then went into the staff-only area, took around 21,000 Kuwaiti dinars in different currencies, and ran away.
