GCash has made app verification easier for overseas Filipino workers in four Middle East countries by accepting select government-issued foreign IDs.
Starting May 12, 2026, eligible OFWs in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar can use their foreign-issued IDs to complete GCash verification inside the app.
The accepted IDs are Emirates ID for UAE residents, Iqama ID for Saudi Arabia residents, Kuwait Civil ID, and Qatar Residency Permit.

Faster Access for Newly Registered OFWs
The update is aimed mainly at newly registered GCash users in the Middle East, especially those within their first seven days of sign-up.
The simplified verification flow will run until July 11, 2026.
GCash said the change will help kababayans abroad access digital financial services faster and with fewer steps, subject to standard security and eligibility checks.
For OFWs with long work hours, limited free time, or unstable internet access, fewer requirements can make a big difference.
No More Long Manual Email Steps for Some Users
Before this update, some applicants had to submit extra documents to prove their ties to the Philippines. This often involved manual email exchanges and longer waiting times.
Under the new flow, users can complete the process inside the GCash app, from registration to ID upload and submission.

Approvals are expected to be processed within 48 hours, depending on security and eligibility checks.
Previously submitted applications under the old process may also be resubmitted so users can benefit from faster processing.
What Verified Users Can Access
Once verified, OFWs can use key GCash services such as Send Money, Bank Transfer, and Pay Bills.
These services can help workers send support to family in the Philippines, manage payments, and handle money needs without relying only on in-person transactions.
For many OFWs, faster verification means faster access to tools that help with remittances, bills, and daily financial support back home.
What OFWs Should Do Now
OFWs in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar who recently signed up for GCash should check if they can verify using their accepted foreign ID inside the app.
Those who already applied under the old process may also consider resubmitting their application if eligible.
